![]() ![]() The characters of the Sutpen family seemed to fall right in line with the McCaslin family in terms of being twisted and tragic, although not quite as expansive. The novel seems to capture the nature and essence of an old story being passed down orally in that regard, and the sections narrated by Miss Rosa seemed to go on forever before Quentin took over and continued in the seemingly extra Southern manner of storytelling. ![]() ![]() This was my 5th Faulkner novel, and while I had told myself over and over this would be a daunting read, I still was challenged by the book not because of how experimental the prose was, but by how long and drawn out the prose was. It's been a while and took a good amount of time and headaches, but I have finally finished William Faulkner's Absalom, Absalom! as of yesterday. ![]()
